Born Edinburgh in 1937 and educated at Melrose and St Bees, Cumbria, he is a project manager with British Rail, where he has worked for over thirty-two years, and is interested in the history of the Borders and the railways in Scotland and the North-East of England.
EDWARD LAVEROCK, MA, LLB
Born in Dunlop, Ayrshire, in 1919, he was educated at Hutchesons Grammar School, Glasgow, and the University of Glasgow. Retired as Senior Partner of J. & W. Buchan, Solicitors, in 1986, he was Town Clerk of Peebles (1948-75), Procurator Fiscal of the County of Peebles (1949-76), Joint Manager, Peebles Building Society (1954-79), Honorary Burgess (Freeman) of the Royal Burgh of Peebles (1975), Honorary Sheriff (1983) and Warden of Neidpath (1975).
MICHAEL LISTER, BA, Dip. Lib
Born in Peebles in 1962, he was educated locally and graduated from Stirling University, later training as a librarian in Aberdeen. He has been a lecturer at the Scottish College of Textiles in Galashiels since 1988.
